What decides one of these is electrical supply, counter depth and clearance under the cabinet above — measured before the order, not after it.

What decides the fit

Electrical supply
A dedicated 20A to 30A 208/240V circuit is what two- and three-group machines are built around, and it is the difference between keeping up at a rush and not.
Counter depth
Twenty-four inches or more of counter depth is comfortable for most two-group machines with their plumbing dressed properly behind.
Clearance under the cabinet above
Thirty inches or more above the counter clears almost everything, including a grinder alongside.

Worth knowing before you order

Why plumbed

Two ways to feed a machine and it changes where it can live. A tank or reservoir machine is filled by hand, which means it can sit anywhere there is power, and it means someone refills it — fine at home, tiresome in a business. A plumbed machine takes a direct water connection and usually a drain, which is what any real volume needs, and it turns installation into a plumbing job. Some prosumer machines do both. Water treatment matters either way: scale kills boilers, and the right filtration depends on your water rather than on the machine.

Boiler type

The boiler arrangement is really about whether you can brew and steam at the same time. A single boiler does one then the other, with a wait between, which is fine for one or two drinks. A heat exchanger draws brew water through a tube passing through the steam boiler, so both are available at once, at the cost of needing a cooling flush when idle. A dual boiler runs a separate boiler for each at independently set temperatures, which is the most stable and the most expensive. Volume and patience decide it.

Power

Espresso machines are heating elements with a pump attached, and the element sets the electrical requirement. Small single-boiler machines run on an ordinary household circuit. Larger prosumer and most commercial machines want a dedicated circuit, and multi-group commercial machines commonly need higher voltage — which is often the thing that decides whether a machine can go where you want it. Establish what the outlet can deliver before choosing the machine, because rewiring a counter after the fact is the expensive order of operations.

A presentation set. Venerabull is in its first phase and is signing its first manufacturers — the models on this page are our own, shown so a maker can see the page their line would get. As lines are signed their real products and photography replace these, and anything that was never inventory comes down.
